Adoption of the Indian National Flag

During the meeting of the Constituent Assembly on 22 July 1947, a few days before India’s independence from the British, the National Flag of India was adopted in its present form.

India’s First Geo-Stationary Satellite APPLE Starts Functioning

On July 19th 1981, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched the Ariane Passenger Payload Experiment (APPLE), an experimental communication satellite that began operating on July 22nd.

Shivaji Maharaj wins Vellore Fort

In the year 1678, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj won the Vellore. Despite capturing the Gingee Fort in 1677, Shivaji left Vellore to his assistant and rushed to Deccan as Aurangzeb attacked Shivaji’s territories.

Indian National Satellite (INSAT-1C) was launched

In order to fully operationalize the INSAT system, the INSAT-1C satellite was launched on July 22, 1988, from Kourou.

Pranab Mukherjee was elected the 13th President of India

Pranab Mukherjee, a former finance minister from West Bengal, and Purno Agitok Sangma, a former speaker of the Lok Sabha from Meghalaya, were the two front-runners for the presidency. Mukherjee was selected as the winner on July 22. On July 25 at 11:30, he was sworn in.
