As per the usual tradition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort as India celebrates its 76th Independence Day.

“Our country is grateful to Gandhiji, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Ramprasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Rani Laxmi Bai, Subash Chandra Bose, Tatya Tope and all other freedom fighters who shook the foundations of the British Empire.”

''Nation's enthusiasm for 'Tiranga' seen in last three days could not have been imagined by many experts, symbolises nation's reawakening.''

''The way the world is viewing India is changing. The world today looks at India with pride, hope and as a problem solver. The world looks at India as a destination where aspirations are met.''

''I salute children who are saying no to imported toys; when a 5-year-old says 'no videshi', 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' runs through his veins.''

''India's 'techade' is finally here. With 5G, chip manufacturing, we are bringing revolution through Digital India to grassroots.''

''Our many institutions affected by family rule, it harms our talent, nation's capabilities and gives rise to corruption.''

PM lists 5 pledges for developing India by 2047. These are -- having developed India, removing any sign of servility, pride in heritage, unity and fulfilling our duties.
